Day 2 – South India (Kanyakumari)

Had buffet breakfast at the resort and quickly hopped in Indigo XL waiting outside. 1st destination Kerala Backwaters and Golden Beach (just before few hundred meters of Kerala – Tamil Nadu border). They are worth visiting. For backwaters, boat is required but for Golden Beach it can be skipped. Google maps will help you in reaching golden beach by road very near approx. 3-4 kms from back waters starting point. Anyways, we took package of everything as we didn’t take google help earlier. Bargaining for a package of 4 people starts from 3500 and ended at 2500.

Backwaters is average(but if u are a photographer do go through water ways) but golden beach is nice, good sand and high tides.

Next destination Wooden Palace. It was decent to visit. Good for photography but it is prohibited without ticket. Still clicked few of them. Try orange color coconut's water (has 2x glucose content than normal) , not available in other parts of india, afaik apart frm kerala and Tamil Nadu. Visited this palace in scorching heat, hence burnt feets, take care in it.

Next and final destination Kanyakumari (Don’t think of a beach, its rocky). In the travel brochure, meeting point of 3 oceans, swami vivekanand statue and rock temple, all seemed different places which required travel but they all are at same place. Statue was in repair, not allowed to visit but rock temple is worth visiting. To reach rock temple, govt. boats are in place. General ticket is 34rs and special 169rs. But for both you need to wait for long as ticket queue is same. After that special ticket saves you only half an hr, not worth the money, unless the place is too crowded. Spent enough time at rock temple, every second worth spending as 3 oceans meeting place is also the same.

Finally day ended with buffet dinner at country club resort.
