Day 1 – South India (Kovalam, Trivandrum)

As soon as I reached, a tout was ready to provide cheap services compared to resorts’ Travel Desk. Gladly took it, without realizing their true nature. Instantly booked for local sightseeing and Kanyakumari for next day. All AC cabs or taxis throughout the travelogue. And costs per tour includes state permits, parking, toll taxes (basically everything) but not your entry ticket in museums and palaces or any other site-seeing. Local sightseeing cost us Rs.1300/- (Only travel charges) - Indigo. And Kanyakumari Rs.2600/-(Only travel charges). All payments paid after the trip. Prices were cleverly set, all packages set exact Rs. 300/- cheaper than resort packages and Tata Indigo XL (longer than usual) provided instead of Tata Indica. A lady residing nearby resort works at travel desk. Need I say anymore? Day sightseeing started with Palace Museum and Zoo. Spent enough time there. Overall decent zoo with as usual, only tigers and lions worth seeing.

Later headed to Padmanabhaswamy temple(open in morning and evening after 5pm). Missed it. Then to Veli Tourist Village, kids park and boating available at hefty cost. Here floating plantation and bridge over them provided good backgrounds in pics. And yes, beach also nearby. Next destination is Shangumugham, missing out the boring seemed Kerala Handicrafts and spices. Beach was okay, not much to enjoy.

Quickly went to worth watching Light house. But missed it. Timings of lighthouse are 3-5pm only. Anyways, ended the day with lots of pics of sunset and kid's rides nearby lighthouse.
